‘The Walking Dead’: It’s Time To Finally Introduce Telltale’s Clementine

Clementine, the iconic character from the “The Walking Dead” games, could potentially become the franchise’s next major spinoff series, provided it’s executed properly. Despite the franchise’s continual expansion with new projects like “Dead City” and “Daryl Dixon,” beloved characters like Clementine from the Skybound and Telltale games have yet to make the leap to live-action adaptation.

While Clementine may not have originated from the original comics or TV series, her popularity among fans is undeniable. Although “The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman previously stated that Clementine wouldn’t appear in the show, the landscape has changed significantly since then, with numerous spinoffs being greenlit by AMC Networks.

Introducing Clementine to the live-action universe could be a tremendous service to fans and a valuable addition to the franchise’s evolution. With spinoffs like “Dead City” and “Daryl Dixon” adopting a shorter episodic format with higher production values, the stage is set for a dedicated series focused on Clementine.

However, it might be even more impactful to introduce Clementine through a cameo appearance in an existing show, such as the upcoming second season of “Dead City” or “The Ones Who Live,” led by Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira.

Given the success of game adaptations like “The Last of Us,” it seems only a matter of time before Clementine’s story is brought to life on screen. “The Walking Dead: Clementine” has a nice ring to it and, with the franchise’s recent expansions, Clementine’s inclusion feels more possible than ever before.

Fans can catch up on “The Walking Dead” universe streaming on AMC+.
