Ryan Reynolds, the star of Marvel Studios’ upcoming film “Deadpool 3,” provided an update on the movie’s release and revealed a long-rumored variant. Following the end of the Hollywood actor strike, Reynolds took to Instagram to share two key pieces of information about the highly anticipated sequel.
Reynolds confirmed that “Deadpool 3” is scheduled for release in the summer of 2024. While he did not specify a precise date, it’s possible that the film may still aim for its initially scheduled slot on May 3. However, due to the strike causing a pause in production, there is also the potential for a further delay into the summer of 2024.
In the same social media post, Reynolds unveiled the inclusion of “Dogpool” in “Deadpool 3.” Dogpool is a literal dog variant of the Deadpool character. This addition aligns with the tradition in the original comics of introducing animal superhero variants, similar to the animated counterparts seen in “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” such as Pter Ptarker and Spider-Cat.
“Deadpool 3” is set to hit theaters in the summer of 2024, promising a blend of humor, action, and the quirky inclusion of Dogpool.
