It seems Woody and the gang are gearing up for another adventure as Tim Allen reveals Disney’s progress on ‘Toy Story 5′. Although Disney’s CEO Bob Iger announced the new Toy Story movie earlier this year, updates have been scarce due to recent actors’ and writers’ strikes. However, Tim Allen, the voice of Buzz Lightyear, has shared a positive update on the upcoming sequel.
Initially, there were concerns that the next installment might be another spin-off, like the Chris Evans-led Lightyear movie. However, Allen reassures fans that Toy Story 5 will likely dive back into the main story featuring Andy’s toys, including Woody and Buzz. During an appearance on The Tonight Show, Allen confirmed that both himself and Tom Hanks have been contacted by Disney for Toy Story 5.
Allen disclosed that “one of the creators of the original series” is writing the script, but he didn’t reveal the name of the writer. He mentioned that Bob Iger, Disney’s head, confirmed that Toy Story 5 is in development. Allen also shared insights into a potential storyline, suggesting a narrative centered on Andy as an adult rediscovering the toys for his own children. Additionally, he teased the possibility of Sid returning as a villain, leaving fans intrigued about the upcoming sequel’s direction.
