Former WWE employee Janel Grant has filed a lawsuit against the company, founder Vince McMahon, and ex-executive John Laurinaitis, alleging sex trafficking and abuse. The suit, filed in Connecticut, claims physical and emotional abuse, sexual assault, and trafficking at WWE.
Grant’s attorney, Ann Callis, stated the complaint aims to hold the executives accountable, emphasizing Grant’s suffering at the hands of McMahon and Laurinaitis. McMahon’s spokesperson dismissed the lawsuit as filled with lies and vowed a vigorous defense.
WWE’s parent company, TKO Group Holdings, took the allegations seriously, addressing the matter internally. Grant accuses McMahon of coercion into a physical relationship for promised employment, alleging sexual assault and psychological torture.
The lawsuit seeks to void a nondisclosure agreement, compensatory and punitive damages, revealing McMahon’s attempts to traffic her to a WWE star after her exit. WWE’s alleged attempts to conceal the matter and a lackluster investigation are also highlighted. McMahon, a majority shareholder, returned to WWE’s board despite sexual misconduct claims and hush money revelations in 2022.
