Jenna Ortega says ‘Wednesday’ Season 2 will lean into ‘more horror’

Following the triumphant debut of Netflix’s “Wednesday,” Jenna Ortega, the lead actor, unveils tantalizing insights into the upcoming second season. Despite facing challenges like strikes, production for the new season is set to commence this spring.

In an interview on the Primetime Emmy Awards red carpet, Ortega shared that the second season would delve deeper into horror elements, expanding its scope beyond the initial installment. She expressed excitement about the scripts, highlighting the intensified horror aspect, character development for Wednesday, and the retention of her signature wit.

Ortega teased, “There are some really, really good one-liners,” and emphasized that everything in the upcoming season is “bigger” and “more action-packed.” Describing the episodes as resembling individual movies, she hinted at a heightened cinematic experience.

“Wednesday” follows the coming-of-age journey of Wednesday Addams at Nevermore Academy, navigating psychic abilities and unraveling supernatural mysteries. The second season promises a darker tone and increased intensity, offering viewers an even more thrilling experience. As of now, the release date for “Wednesday” Season 2 remains undisclosed.
