Our first glimpse of Shadow the Hedgehog in ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’ has been unveiled as production kicks off on the highly anticipated threequel.
The film’s confirmation came in February last year, preceding the release of ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’, during the Viacom Investor Event.
Initially slated to commence principal photography on August 31 this year in London, the production faced delays due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike. Nevertheless, second-unit filming proceeded first to mitigate the impact.The official Sonic the Hedgehog movie X handle has confirmed that principal photography is now “off and running” for the threequel. The revealed first look showcases Shadow the Hedgehog, fully suited up, a character teased in the end-credits scene of ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’. Despite the delays, the film is on track to meet its original release date of December 30, 2024.
The star-studded voice cast includes Ben Schwartz as Sonic, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails, and Idris Elba as Knuckles.
In the live-action realm, James Marsden reprises his role as Tom Wachowski, alongside Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski and Natasha Rothwell as Rachel. Additional cast members include Adam Pally, Lee Majdoub, Tom Butler, and Shemar Moore.
Directed by Jeff Fowler and written by Pat Casey and Josh Miller, ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’ is produced by Neal H. Moritz, Hajime Satomi, Toby Ascher, Tim Miller, Nan Morales, and Toru Nakahara.
Fans can anticipate the theatrical release of ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’ on December 30, 2024.
