Margot Robbie Dressed Up Like ’70s Barbie at the 2024 Golden Globes

Margot Robbie’s promotional tour for “Barbie” not only showcases dazzling costumes but also pays homage to iconic Barbie dolls through the creative touch of stylist Andrew Mukamal. The 2024 Golden Globe Awards witnessed Robbie’s stunning appearance in a custom Armani Privé hot pink sequined gown, reminiscent of the Superstar Barbie from 1977, as revealed on Mukamal’s Instagram.

In an interview with People, Robbie explained the intention behind the Barbie-themed press tour, stating, “We’re finding Barbie references from decades past and just doing it really for the big Barbie fans out there, people who are actually collecting those Barbies. We’re hoping to get them excited. We’re pairing Barbie references with great designers.”

Robbie’s commitment to embodying Barbie’s essence throughout the press tour stems from the unexpected impact of the iconic role. Reflecting on the experience, she humorously noted, “I just never expected to have this much empathy for a doll!” This unique connection adds a compelling dimension to the narrative surrounding “Barbie.”
